So I hear Paula has finished matching up everyone with their senior buddies, and that everyone has scheduled an appointment with her... That's great! I'm glad we're getting started soon! Don't forget to report your hours every now and then.

Visiting the Care Center

Please be sure to let us know which date suits you better for visiting the Care Center: November 9th or 16th. The visit will last from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm, and you will receive 3 hours of community service credit for it.

Here is the schedule for the visit:

1:30 - 2:00 pm : Orientation
2:00 - 2:30 pm: Transportation of nursing home residents to activity room
2:30 - 3:30 pm: Play Bingo (yay!)
3:30 - 4:00 pm: Transportation of nursing home residents (I'm guessing back to their rooms)

The Care Center is located at 728 Bunn Drive (off Harrison Street).

Hope to hear from you soon,

Ila

LINK Training

We just had the LINK training yesterday, so you are now prepared to embark on your voyage to self-fulfillment through service to your community. :o) Paula is currently busy matching you up with your senior-buddies-to-be. When she's done, she will let you know either by phone or by email, so please make sure she can reach you somehow! Feel free to email her at rpmh@aol.com. We are currently trying to plan a time to visit the nursing home. So far, we have agreed on Sunday (but not a specific time). I'd like to have one visit in the month of October-- preferably towards the end, so that maybe we can arrange to go in our Halloween costumes (if that would be fun for you). More later.

Update

Hi everyone! If you did not come to today's meeting (Oct 1st), you must get in touch with either me or Ian to get the contract form for LINK. You cannot be a part of the group unless you have this form.
Also, there is a mandatory meeting on October 15th for your LINK training. This will be the only mandatory meeting all year, so make sure to mark it on your calendar.

Thanks,

Ila

Welcome!

Hi everyone! Welcome to the LINK blog. In case you can't remember what LINK is about after the chaotic Community Service Fair this past Wednesday, we are a group that visits senior citizens in Princeton who are needy or lonely. You can visit your "senior buddy" alone or with a friend, and you get to set your own timings. We also plan on visiting the Princeton Care Center (nursing home) as a group.

Our first meeting is on Wednesday, September 17th at 1:39pm in room 203. There will be food!!!
